Vista support.

Vista turns local VR180 and VR360 movies into a Mac-viewable scene. Open a movie with File → Open or drag it into Vista. Drag the scene to look around, scroll or pinch to zoom, and use Recenter to return to the starting view.

When a movie looks wrong

Use the format control in the playback bar to choose 180° or 360° coverage, equirectangular or fisheye projection, mono or stereo layout, and the displayed eye. Vista detects formats when possible, but video files do not always contain reliable VR metadata. Side-by-side and top/bottom stereo are supported. Experimental dual-fisheye is off by default and is not part of the certified 1.0 format set.

File support and performance

Vista opens local movie files supported by macOS AVFoundation, primarily MP4 and MOV. Codec compatibility and high-resolution playback depend on your Mac and the source file. Vista 1.0 requires Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later. The app does not upload or modify your movies.

Troubleshooting

If a video will not open or playback stutters, try a shorter MP4 or MOV clip first, check the file in QuickTime Player, then use Video Info → Copy Diagnostics and include the report when contacting support. The copied report omits the movie name and path, bookmarks, frames, and audio; please do not send a private movie unless you choose to.
